Car Parking Near OpenStreetsPGH
Busing, walking, and biking are great ways to get to OpenStreetsPGH. But if you’ve decided to drive, here are some pointers:
As many people know, Sunday mornings mean FREE street parking at any metered parking spot in the city.
The Theater Square Garage (Google Maps) is one of the largest in the city and is accessible via 7th Street, which will remain open all day to thru traffic. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see the bright green wall.
For more parking options Downtown, ParkPGH is a great site that allows you to see the current availability of city parking.
Smallman Street in the Strip has ample parking. There are also paid surface lots near the Heinz History Center and behind the produce terminal just one block from Penn Ave.
To get to these lots we recommend using 376 to the 10th Street bypass under the Convention Center and taking Smallman Street from there. Alternatively from Liberty Ave or Grant Street use 11th to get to Smallman St. For more parking in the Strip check out neighborsinthestrip.com/visit/parking/
We recommend to use other neighborhoods for parking outside of Lawrenceville. While there are spots available this is a mostly residential community that does not have the same surface parking as you see in other neighborhoods. If you are headed to Lawrenceville we recommend to bike, skate, bus nearby, or walk.
